Operational Readiness

We work with our clients to ensure the project has all the systems and processes required to operate and maintain the new plant or equipment. Implementing these systems early in the project will save the Project Manager time and frustration during the hand over period. Some of the areas we can assist you with include:

1. Operation & Maintenance Strategy Development

Identification of failure modes and development of Preventive and Predictive maintenance tactics based on the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Methodology.

We heavily focus on Con-Mon techniques such as VA, Oil Sampling and Thermography to identify failures early and prevent equipment catastrophic failure.

2. Equipment Criticality Assessment

Assessment of equipment criticality. Having a critical equipment list will aid to identify critical spares and prioritise work. These are usually equipment that will interrupt production if they fail.

3. Registerable Plant Inspection

To ensure compliance, we must identify classified equipment such as pressure vessels, fire systems, cranes, etc. And have system-generated inspections. Inspections are developed as per Australian Standards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations 2022 recommendations.

4. Spare Parts

Spare parts are the most neglected part of an operation, even though there is significant capital tied up to the stores. This an area where it makes a lot of sense to invest in optimising.

Holding spares is the best strategy for risk mitigation, but it is expensive. The annual cost of holding a regular spare is between 10% and 25% of the total cost of the spare part, and critical spares are more expensive since they need to be inspected and maintained regularly. So optimising your stores represent a preservation strategy is necessary, especially for critical spares, to ensure they are available and in “as new” condition when needed.

5. Lubrication

We can help to develop the lube schedule and the lube routes. We can also recommend equivalent lubricants to increase the life of the equipment, reduce the oil change frequency and reduce the use of resources.

6. CMMS and Master Data

We can assist in implementing your CMMS, creating FLOCs, BOMs and developing upload sheets for Maintenance Plans, Maintenance Items and Task Lists.
